11/07/2007 - Clarification About Red Cross:
I've just spoken to a representative of the Red Cross and
she clarified that our group is wonderful :) and completely
legitimate - however we cannot be affiliated with the
Red Cross in any way unless we go through their specific
certifications. This means we cannot:
1. State that we are affiliated with the Red Cross
2. Provide counseling at any of their evacuation centers
unless we are ARC Certified.
3. Be referred by the Red Cross unless we are ARC Certified
or become a partnership with them
Flyer
Available: I have whipped up a quick flyer that
you can hang up. It is in a word document so you can substitute
out the areas that are in red. Of course you can change
all of the text if you'd like, but please don't forget to
include the web link. Download
now.
Need Spanish-Speaking Counselors: WIC has
contacted me and are looking for Spanish-speaking therapists
- please indicate if you do speak Spanish, or see if you
know anyone who will volunteer.

Please
Put it Out to the Press:
Here
is the press release
that went out to:
- Newspapers: Union Tribune, North County Times
- TV: Channels: 8, 10, Fox6
- Radio: 100.7, KPBS, 600, and 750
Please feel free to download the press release. I will be
followuing up with the media again tomorrow.
This is the biggest challenge now - getting
this message out there!
Please forward the Press Release as well as this link that
lists all of
the available therapists (please don't worry if your

I spoke with Scott Suckow from MHA - we are going to work
together to
support those in need of short and long-term care. The funds
he has set
up will be used for those needing long-term care. We will
focus those
needing immediate care.
Please
email me with any questions, as that is the best way to
reach me.
And SPREAD THE WORD we are here to help!
Take care and thanks again,
Aimee Zakrewski
